The ASME Chain Reaction team allows students to express their creativity and apply their acquired knowledge from school to something tangible by creating a chain reaction machine. A chain reaction machine is a system of chained reactions that are either mechanical, electrical, or any type of force that is enough to initiate another reactive force. Usually, the goal is something rather simple, but by taking the hardest and the most creative way of achieving such goal, students get to learn the process of engineering design and of building a machine. By the end of the season, students will be trained to analyze and materialize their ideas and to work as a team to create one delicate device.
